How Can I Make My Home Daycare Stand Out?

The best way to make your home daycare stand out is by, thinking of ways to keep the parents mind at ease while they are at work earning a living.

Starting a home daycare can be extremely difficult if you don’t have a plan of action. You need to know what you are going to offer your parents and their children, that would make you stand out from the rest of the home daycares that are out there.

Most parents and children want to come in and feel welcomed, see that your space is clean, that there is a variety of toys that the children can play with, and that your home smells good.

You also want to make sure that you are teaching the children and that there is a daily schedule, so the children know what to expect.

I also believe that we as providers need to always be trying to improve ourselves by taking classes.

Trust me, there are tons of daycares, but no one is like you!

Questions To Ask Yourself:

  1. What are you going to teach their children? (To help them get ready for school)
  2. How can you make sure that you are always making yourself better as a provider?
  3. Do you know what you will be feeding the children on a daily basis? (Will it be healthy and nutritious meals?)

I think that these are the things that most parents are concerned with when they are looking for a provider.

List to Help Your In-Home Childcare Stand Out:

If I was thinking about starting a in-home daycare this year, here’s a short list of what I would do, and continue to do when I start anything new.

1- Write Down Your Goals:

How many children do you want to care for?

How much money do you want to make?

Have you contacted other home daycares to see what you should be charging?

Do you know any other daycare providers doing the same thing that you could contact to ask questions? The list can go on and on.

This post contains affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission, at no cost to you. If you make a purchase through my link.

Its smart to write things down, so you can cross off your list of things you have accomplished

2- Find Out What Your State’s Requirements Are: I previously wrote a post that goes into more details on how to start a home daycare.

3- Start the process ASAP

Something that I’ve learned over the years is to be honest, communicate about any issues that may arise, and to be grateful when any parent chooses your daycare.

If you are considering starting your own home daycare or just need someone to talk to because you have questions, I do offer coaching. It’s $97/hr. You can contact me here.
